The attorneys of our Construction Practice Group provide strategic legal counsel to project owners of office, industrial, retail, residential, institutional and educational facilities throughout Southern California. We advise real property and commercial project owners and boards of directors in a wide array of construction, commercial and real estate related matters. Our experience in handling a wealth of transactions and disputes makes us well-versed in the legal issues arising within each and every phase. Whether negotiating and drafting new construction or repair contracts for use in hiring contractors, construction managers or design professionals, or representing clients through all facets of litigation, we work to exceed our clients’ expectations while protecting their legal rights.

Representative matters handled by the Construction Practice Group include breach of contract, quiet title, tort claims, easements, injunctive relief, delays, change orders, differing site conditions, disruptions, insurance issues, property damage, payment claims, mechanic’s liens and bond claims. Our work involves contract formation and performance disputes as well as complex construction cases, mediation, arbitration and litigation. When disputes involve defective work, the Construction Practice Group works hand and hand with our seasoned construction defect attorneys. Our multi-disciplinary team approach is implemented with an eye toward protecting property investments and funding complete restoration.

The Epsten Grinnell & Howell Construction Practice Group is unique. By focusing our construction practice solely upon construction project owners, we especially understand our clients’ needs and expectations. The Construction Practice Group is overseen by its Co-Chairs Jon H. Epsten and Lori F. Bessler.
